Salobreña – A Castle on the Coast

Salobreña is a pretty pueblo blanco (white village) on the south coast of Spain. It features a Moorish castle above the town.

There are two main routes for the photography lessons in Salobreña. The Cemetery to La Caleta route which takes about 2 hours and the exploring the old town of Salobreña.

Cemetery to La Caleta

The best one is a route that heads out to the north of the village, runs parallel to the coast and back down into La Caleta.

Here’s some photos from this route taken with a Fujifilm S1000fd – a budget digital compact from 2008. Even with a cheap basic camera, it’s possible to take nice photographs.

Alternatively with a mobile phone and some photographic technique it’s also possible to take fantastic photos on this walk.

Salobreña Old Town

This is quite a short route but can be combined with a stop in a bar for some pre walk photographic tips and tricks.

This one is better in the evenings to get the soft light and with a little luck, catch the sunset from one of the miradors.
